Tokidoki Barbie

So this doll has me jumping up and down like a little girl in a Barbie store. Two of my favourite collaborators have joined forces, those two collaborators being Tokidoki and Barbie! Wow “This gets me excited” is an understatement, I’m a huge fan of both.

Tokidoki have done some amazing collaborations with other brands that I love including: Onistuka Tiger, Hello Kitty, Karl Largerfield, Smashbox & Marvel and plenty more

Simone Legno founder, designer, illustrator and brains behind tokidoki has done some ground breaking stuff! Being a Designer/Illustrator this guy to me is a rockstar!

Barbie being another brand I love has collaborated with some other amazing brands: Christian Louboutin, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang, Versace & Hello Kitty just to name a few.

For me the is one of the ultimate collabs, I love and have a small collection of both, this is definitely a doll I covet but being sold out I will be trawling eBay for her.

This doll has caused quite a bit of controversy, some parental groups labelling the tattooed pink haired doll inappropriate for children. The doll is a collector item and is targeted towards to the adult collector like myself. I love this snapshot of pop culture, not at all inappropriate, but a bold move to encourage girls to express themselves in an artistic way.
